And this has several causes, but today I want to talk about a less obvious one – Stress.

Autumn comes and the hassles arrive, the time for vacations on the beach or in the countryside is over!

Schools begin, the purchase of books, the frenetic pace of the city, and often, the little-loved job that takes away the happiness of living...

Hair Loss Causes - Stress

Stress, that bandit disguised as obligations, takes away our comfort, forcing us to do our best for life.

That should be his main function...

But sometimes it is excessive, dysfunctional, it loses its meaning.

Doing more harm than good.

As if that weren't enough, it still affects our hair.

There are 3 types of hair loss associated with stress:

• Alopecia areata – Hair loss occurs in the form of “patches”, only in certain areas. The size of a coin, flaws appear in a short time.

Stress is one of the major causes of hair loss.

And what is the explanation for this?

Basically stress is an accelerator for everything bad that is happening in our organism, and even if it is not the main cause of hair loss, it will certainly intensify its effect.

Punctual or chronic stress causes the body to release cortisol, the well-known stress hormone, at a neuroendocrine level.

This hormone reaches the follicles where the hair root is located, and communicates through chemistry to it:

“From now on, you will stop growing. And in a few days you will start to fall, because now our priorities are different!”

Thus begins the well-known Telogen phase.

Most of these hairs don't die, but they don't show either.

They "hibernate" inside the follicles for 3 MONTHS!!!

3 months without showing up! And we are struggling...

More like a nightmare!

And to top it off, cortisol causes an excess of oiliness in the scalp, which does not make life easier for poor hair, which struggles to survive.

In addition to cortisol, stress increases the concentration of another hormone called dihydrotestosterone (DHT) which causes hair to weaken and subsequently fall out.

This process by DHT is quite common, in men and a few women, but associated with a genetic cause.

Stress also affects the immune system and therefore increases the risk of diseases, which weaken the body, to the point of also increasing hair loss.

And why does it happen more in women?

To this day, nobody knows, but possibly because women are fighters who have to face multiple activities, which wear them out on a daily basis!

If the cause is essentially stress, you should learn to deal with it, relax, do meditation and yoga, and if necessary…
